In this walking tour we will follow Jerusalem’s most famous 19th century city engineer – Conrad Shick, visit a bottom of a well, and see the only existing Egyptian mummy in Israel named Alex.

The Tour will begin near Damascus gate where we explore a beautiful colonial German compound with wooden models built by Shick and more surprises the basement.

We will continue through the New Gate to visit the oldest catholic guesthouse in the city, see what the Romans left, to and see a church designed to make Jews feel at home.

We will explore two secret gardens, one Coptic church and walk through the Muslim market to taste the traditional Arab sweets.
